Jax Cosmetology is a user-centered digital experience built to simplify appointment booking and showcase beauty services with elegance and clarity.

Problem

Independent cosmetologists often struggle with balancing the demands of providing high-quality, personalized services while managing the business aspects of their practice, such as appointment scheduling, client retention, marketing, and inventory management.

Goal

To address the challenges faced by independent cosmetologists, implementing an all-in-one digital platform tailored to their unique needs can streamline business operations, enhance client management, and promote growth.

Process

I began by understanding the client’s goals, target audience, and the unique challenges of entering the cosmetology field. Through collaborative planning sessions, I mapped out the ideal user journey—from learning about services to booking an appointment.

Client Discovery & Goal Setting

I began by meeting with the client to understand her long-term goals in cosmetology. Since she was just entering the field, we focused on building trust through design and showcasing services in a way that felt both personal and professional.

User Research & Audience Definition

I identified the primary users as first-time clients, returning customers, and potential referrals. Research included reviewing beauty industry trends, analyzing local competitors’ digital presence, and outlining core expectations like easy scheduling, service transparency, and mobile responsiveness.

Information Architecture & Wireframing

To keep the experience intuitive, I created a simple site map focused on the essentials: Home, About, Services, Booking, and Contact. I then sketched wireframes to visualize content hierarchy and streamline navigation, especially on mobile.

Visual Design & Branding

The visual direction centered around softness, clarity, and elegance—using a neutral, warm palette with personal touches to reflect the client's personality. Typography and layout were selected to feel approachable yet polished.

A clean, responsive website designed for both mobile and web—showcasing beauty services with confidence and clarity, while making it easy for clients to explore, trust, and book appointments effortlessly.
